Canon LC710 Printer Review
The Canon LC710 laser printer is designed for the small or medium office environment. It is a multifunction device with excellent printing, scanning, faxing, and copying capabilities.
The design of the Canon LC710 laser printer is taller than it is wide, so even though it is a large machine, its footprint will allow it to squeeze into tighter spaces. Despite its large size, it weighs only 44 pounds. The unit can print, scan, copy, and fax. It has a large paper capacity of 600 sheets, and an automatic document feeder with a capacity of 70 sheets. This allows for faxing, copying, or scanning up to 70 sheets automatically, and is a very convenient feature.
Faxing is fast, with support for Super G3 transmission speeds up to 33.6 kbps. The unit can also slow down transmission speed to accommodate slower fax machines. There is a page memory of up to 510 pages, which is handy for storing pages when the unit is out of paper, ensuring users never miss a fax. Expanding the unit's memory will also expand the page memory, for users who need more.
Canon LC710 toner cartridges are affordably-priced, resulting in a low cost per page. Each laser toner cartridge has a capacity of 4,500 pages, and the printer toner cartridge is easy to access. Opting for third-party compatible cartridges, rather than the more expensive manufacturer cartridges, will result in even more cost savings too.
Print speed is fast, at up to 19 pages per minute. Text quality is very sharp, with dark and detailed characters, even at small font sizes. Graphics and photo quality is average, but could be better using a different toner. However, the LC710 toner is much more affordable than competing products.
Overall, the Canon LC710 impresses with its sheer amount of functionality. Every function is well-designed and useful, and speed and paper capacity are enough to handle a large number of users. The 70-page ADF keeps things moving.
