Canon LC3170 Printer Review
The Canon LC 3170 laser fax is designed for the high-volume office environment. Its fast transmission speeds and excellent print quality make it a solid choice for any office, and its expandability is an added bonus.
The Canon LC 3170 laser fax is not the most compact machine on the market. It is actually quite bulky, but its size is secondary to its capacity for high speed, high-quality faxing performance. The initial paper capacity includes a 500-sheet standard tray and a 100-sheet multipurpose tray. If that's not enough, an additional 500-sheet tray can be added as an upgrade, bringing the total paper capacity to an impressive 1,100 sheets.
Not only are Super G3 transmission speeds up to 33.6 kbps supported, but the unit includes a dual-line option which can connect to two phone lines for sending and receiving at the same time. This is a great feature for a busy office. There is a large 70-sheet automatic document feeder, for scanning multiple pages quickly, and the unit can store up to 192 pages in its memory, making it possible to retrieve missed faxes, even if the unit ran out of paper.
The unit uses a single black laser toner cartridge that is easily accessed and replaced. Canon LC 3170 toner cartridges have a capacity of 5,000 pages. The fax toner cartridge can be stretched even further by using the toner save option, which is the most economical choice.
Print speed is up to 17 pages per minute. Print quality is excellent, with support for 1200 dpi printing, which is twice the resolution typically available in a fax machine. This results in much sharper quality, especially with the image enhancements built in to the machine.
Overall, the Canon LC 3170 has the capability to handle a large volume of faxing needs. Large offices will find a lot to like, with its fast speeds, expandability, and above average quality.

Warranty for Compatible/Remanufactured Products
Based on our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, Ink Technologies will accept returns of compatible or remanufactured ink and toner cartridges for full credit if the returned product has a valid return authorization number and is received in our warehouse within 6 months of the original shipping date. If there is a confirmed print quality issue, only 1 set of opened products will be accepted for credit returns, and only if less than 30% of the ink or toner has been used.
Ink Technologies will replace defective compatible or remanufactured products free of charge if the products are returned within 1 year of the original ship date, and provide a return shipping tag for return of the product.
