Canon 810 Printer Review
For buyers used to using separate devices for each function, the Canon LASER CLASS 810 multifunction laser fax machine will be eye opening. In addition to faxing, it can handle copying and optional printing at output speeds of up to 23 pages per minute. It supports network sharing, making it perfect for a small office environment, but Canon 810 printer toner supplies could be too pricey for small budgets.
The fax function of the 810 is the most full-featured, with Super G3 technology and a 33.6 Kbps transmission speed. The 50-sheet automatic document feeder is also essential for the task, as it can scan up to 37 images per minute and also handles two-sided originals with ease. Users can choose the incoming fax quality mode for resolutions up to 400x400 dpi, or choose a lower resolution to save on LASER CLASS 810 toner.
When users add the optional printing features, they have the choice of connecting it via USB port or ethernet, the latter of which allows it to be shared among multiple users on the office network. The machine can print at an enhanced resolution of 1200 dpi, or lower resolutions are available for those who want to be more economical or prioritize output speed.
When using OEM Canon 810 toner cartridges, buyers will find that prices are a bit higher than they might expect. Unfortunately, compatible Canon 810 toner is a bit difficult to find. With an estimated yield of 4,500 pages for each LASER CLASS 810 toner cartridge, the cost per page is still fairly affordable, but not as impressive as some competing models.
The 810 will easily meet the faxing needs of a busy small office, and its excellent automatic document feeder and fast transmission speeds make it a very good value for the price. Buyers may be disappointed by the high cost of replacement toners, however.
