The Canon Pixma iP4700 is a single purpose inkjet photo printer that is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems. It can print a professional quality picture in as little as 20 seconds. It produces at a maximum resolution of 9600x2400 dpi when using color Canon iP4700 ink and at 600x600 dpi in black printer ink. The quickness and quality of images make this unit perfect for students, home users and amateur photographers.
There are many features inside of the Canon Pixma iP4700, but one of its best features is the way it looks on the outside. With fine black edges and an offsetting gray tone, this sleek and attractive inkjet printer will look good in any room. It is not as big as multi-purpose units, but does take up some space with its 17x11.7x6 inch frame. It has two 150-sheet input trays and a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface. The iP4700 also has a PictBridge connection, enabling users to print directly from digital cameras.
This unit consists of 5 Canon iP4700 ink cartridges and 4,416 nozzles. Each printer ink tank can be installed and replaced separately, which is much more cost effective than having cyan, magenta and yellow all in one tank. The cost of Pixma iP4700 ink cartridges is low and the page yield is respectable. The printhead technology uses those nozzles to dispense the Canon iP4700 ink in tiny 1 picoliter droplets per inch (dpi) of paper.
For under $100, the iP4700 provides users the ability to print dynamic and realistic color photos from home. The affordable Canon Pixma iP4700 ink combined with Canon's special photo paper can produce pictures that last for hundreds of years. This inkjet printer has mostly all good reviews from consumers and experts, and it would make a good addition to any home or small office.

As a dedicated inkjet photo printer, the Canon PIXMA iP4700 is an affordable solution for lab-quality prints right at home. It can handle a wide range of media, including several types of photo paper and even CDs and DVDs. Duplex printing is included for two-sided prints that save on paper, and the PictBridge port is an easy way to connect a digital camera for direct printing.
With the printer powered on, open the paper tray and lift up on the top cover.
The Canon iP4700 ink cartridges will move to the center for easy access. Look for the cartridge that is flashing rapidly, and pry its small plastic handle backward to release it. You can now lift it up and out to remove it.
Prepare your new PIXMA iP4700 ink cartridge by taking it out of the box and removing the plastic bag. Grab the loose end of the tape strip on the top and pull in the direction of the arrows. Remove the orange plastic protector at the bottom by prying the cartridge’s small handle away from the protector.
Place the new iP4700 cartridge into the opening in the printer, then give it a firm press downward until you feel it lock into place, then lower the cover down.
You are now ready to resume printing with your Canon PIXMA iP4700 printer.
