Inheriting some of its excellent output quality from larger models in its series, the Canon imageCLASS LBP6200D is a monochrome laser printer for personal or small office use. It can reach speeds of up to 26 pages per minute, and uses affordable Canon LBP6200D printer toner supplies, but its limited paper capacity could be a problem for busy users.

As part of the LBP6200 series, the LBP6200D model name denotes its automatic duplexing feature, which makes it easy to enable double-sided prints to save on paper costs. The unit has a very compact design, measuring 9.6x14.9x11.5 inches, and it weighs 16.8 pounds with the imageCLASS LBP6200D toner supply installed.

The output resolution is 2400x600 dpi, which produces especially sharp text prints, and solid graphics as well. The first page out time of 6 seconds means less waiting for a job to start. The machine includes a USB port for connecting directly to a computer, but lacks networking features. One aspect that may be disappointing for some buyers is that the LBP6200D includes only a 250-sheet main paper tray, which could be very limiting. It also provides no upgrade options for paper capacity, so buyers should be sure it will fit their needs before purchasing.

The LBP6200D would be much better suited to personal use than as a small office printer. Its output speed and print quality are solid, but its limited paper capacity and lack of networking would be a hindrance in a multi-user office.
