Canon D620 Printer Review
The Canon D620 laser printer is designed for the home or small office user. It features fast and high-quality copying and excellent print quality in an affordable machine. Its low toner costs make it an economical choice for offices on a budget.
The Canon imageCLASS D620 laser printer not only makes an excellent printer, but it also works quite well as a standalone copy machine, without the need for a computer. The unit connects via USB or parallel, but does not include built-in networking, though it can be shared across a network with either a print server or a computer acting as a host.
The unit has a very large paper capacity for its size and price, with a 500-sheet main drawer and a 100-sheet multipurpose tray. A wide variety of media is supported, including transparencies, envelopes, labels, and colored paper. Zooming from 50% to 200% is supported, and the unit has both automatic and manual exposure settings to help users get better quality copies.
Canon D620 toner cartridges are very affordably-priced, which will be good news to offices on a budget. The cost per page is much lower than a lot of the competitor's products. The laser toner cartridge has a capacity of 5,000 pages. Users can get more out of each printer toner cartridge by using the unit's toner save feature, which reduces the amount of toner used per page, lowering costs even more. A full-size Canon imageCLASS D660 toner cartridge is included, which is somewhat of a rarity.
Print and copy speed is quite fast, at around 13 pages per minute. Print quality is impressive. Text is very sharp and detailed, though graphics quality could be a little better. It should be usable for most small office users who don't rely heavily on graphics printing, however.
Overall, the Canon imageCLASS D620 is an impressive machine, with the ability to replace multiple pieces of equipment in the office.
