The Canon D1180 laser printer is designed for the small or medium office environment. It features a full set of multifunction capabilities, along with fast printing speeds and excellent print quality.

The Canon D1180 laser printer, not only has virtually every function an office could need, it also includes built-in networking capabilities, allowing users to connect and share it easily across multiple computers on a network. It also has automatic duplexing abilities in both scanning and printing, allowing users to scan or print two-sided documents with ease.

There is a 50-sheet automatic document feeder for scanning multiple pages at once, for either faxing, scanning, or copying. Faxing supports Super G3 transmission speeds for fast transfers, but it can also slow down transmission speeds when communicating with slower machines.

Paper capacity is 500 sheets, but it is expandable to a maximum of 1000 sheets with the addition of a second 500-sheet tray. This allows a small office to take advantage of the unit's affordable upfront price, but add capacity as its needs grow in the future.

Canon D1180 toner cartridges have a capacity of 5,000 pages, much higher capacity than the home targeted Canon MF4150 toner cartridge and printer. The unit uses a single black laser toner cartridge. Print quality is excellent. Text is sharp, dark, and defined, and retains clarity and readability at small font sizes. Graphics and photo quality is also very impressive, with smooth gradients and virtually no signs of blotchiness. Print and copy speed is very fast, at up to 30 pages per minute, which will appeal to users in a busy office, where speed is of the utmost importance.

Overall, the Canon D1180 is an impressive machine. Its many functions are well-designed, and its affordable toner costs make it a very economical choice.
