The Canon CLC-920 is a color laser copier geared toward the high-volume large office environment. Its copy speeds are fast and reliable, and it supports a wide range of paper sizes and weights.
The CLC-920 has the speed and capacity to keep up with a high-volume office. With a monthly duty cycle of 20,000 pages, it is clearly built to work hard day in and day out. Its input capacity is over 1,100 pages, meaning even the busiest of office environments will rarely need to reload paper.
Toner comes in separate cartridges for black and for 3 colors: cyan, magenta, and yellow. Through varying combinations of these three colors, virtually any color can be created. Each toner cartridge has a capacity of 4,500 pages, so they will not need to be replaced often. In fact, it is worth noting that toner capacities only represent around a quarter of the monthly duty cycle. In other words, if users pushed the copier to its maximum monthly limit, they would only have used four sets of toner cartridges.
The control panel is nicely laid out with a clear, easy-to-read screen. The menu is straightforward and easy to navigate, allowing access to enlargement and other necessary functions quickly and easily.
The only major downside to the CLC-920 is its slow color copying speeds. While black and white copies print at a speed of 28 pages per minute, color copies only print at around 7 pages per minute. Given the price, and the speed of black and white copying, this is somewhat disappointing. However, given that most users will only need to make color copies occasionally, this may not be a serious issue for most.
Overall, the Canon CLC-920 is a sturdy, reliable copy machine that does an excellent job of making quick and easy copies. High-volume copying is its forte, and its slightly disappointing color copying speeds are not enough to detract from its many great features.
