The Canon CLC-800 is a color laser copy machine designed for a medium to large office environment. Its high-volume design and reliability are strong assets, but slower color speeds might make it less appealing to some buyers.

The CLC-800 is a rather large machine. Weighing in at over 530 pounds, it is not a machine that will be easily moved around the office. Attached wheels will help in this respect, but once placed, this machine is designed to stay put. The unit measures 29 x 30 x 39 inches, (height, width, depth) so it takes up a large footprint where it is placed.

The appeal of the CLC-800 lies in its capacity for high-volume copying. With a monthly duty cycle of a whopping 20,000 pages, it can easily accommodate a large office environment with high-volume needs. Copying speeds of the CLC-800 are somewhat mixed. While black and white copies copy at a speedy rate of 28 pages per minute, color copy speeds are a bit disappointing, at 7 pages per minute. Obviously, some speed difference is to be expected when copying color pages, but faster color speeds would have been nice to see.

The Canon CLC-800 toner cartridge has a capacity of 4,500 pages for both the black and color cartridges. This is a capacity is a bit small for a printer with such capabilities, but buying from third party resellers can reduce costs for the Canon CLC-800 toner cartridges.

One of the CLC-800's best features is it's automatic duplexing capability, allowing users to easily copy onto both sides of a page. This can save a large sum of money in paper costs over the lifetime of the copier, and also gives users more flexibility and options in what they can produce from the copier. While other copiers allow for manual duplexing, having the capability built-in automatically is a real time-saver.

Overall, the Canon CLC-800 is a dependable, high-volume copy machine for the large and busy office environment. Buyers who need a copy machine for a large number of users will find it suits their needs quite well. Slower color printing speeds are a downside, but for users who don't do a lot of color copying will find the copier's many strengths outweigh this minor weakness.
