The Canon C3380 is a multifunction color laser printer and copier designed for the high-volume office environment. It has fast printing and copying speeds and built in duplexing. Its high price tag may turn more frugal buyers away.

While affordable color multifunction devices are becoming more prevalent in small and even medium offices, the large high-volume office environment still needs a machine with the speed and muscle to handle its large number of users, and its rigorous printing demands. For this, a unit like the C3380 is indispensable.

The C3380 can print, scan, copy, and fax, allowing it to replace multiple pieces of equipment, even in a large office. It has a 300 MHz CPU and 1 GB of RAM, which allows it to handle virtually all of the processing without the need for a host computer. It also has an 80 GB hard drive, for storing print jobs or archiving documents for easy access at a later time.

There is a 50-sheet automatic document feeder, which is capable of duplex (two-sided) scanning, allowing users to turn one or two-sided documents into one or two-sided copies. Print quality is excellent. The printer uses a 1200 dpi printing engine for extremely sharp prints in both monochrome and color. Print speed is an impressive 33 pages per minute in monochrome and 30 pages per minute in color.

Canon C3380 toner cartridges have a large capacity with the colors at 14,000 pages and the black toners yielding 26,000 pages. With such a large multifunctional printer, the Canon C3380 toner cartridges need to be at least that large to keep up with the fast paced environment it was intended for.

Overall, the Canon C3380 has a lot to offer a large office environment. It can handle virtually any task thrown at it quickly and easily. Its upfront price may be high, for the high-volume office, nothing less will do.
