The Canon Multipass C100 is an all-in-one inkjet device that has functions like scanning and faxing. The fax machine has a maximum transmission speed of 33.6 Kbps and a total memory capacity 416 pages. Other fax features include error correction mode, 113 broadcast transmission stations and automatic redialing. The scanner has an 8-bit gray scale and 24-bit color depth that allows it to send professional-quality full-color scans. The C100 can scan at a maximum resolution of 600x600 dpi.

The device also has printing and copying capabilities. The printer can produce documents at a maximum speed of only 9 pages per minute and the copier can print duplicates at a speed of 3 copies per minute. The copier can produce copies with a resolution of around 360x360 dpi using Canon C100 ink. Standard printed projects, however, can reach a resolution of 1400x720 dpi using black printer ink. The copier also has the ability to enlarge duplicates to a maximum of 200% and reduce them to a minimum of 70% the original size.

Since the unit's printer ink system only requires a black and a tricolor Canon C100 ink cartridge, users will spend little time replacing expired ink. The manufacturer provides two Multipass C100 ink cartridges that will have the device printing as soon as installation finishes. Compatible Canon C100 ink is a low-cost replacement option compared to genuine brands. Either type of Multipass C100 ink can be purchased at third party vendor sites.

The C100 supports a variety of different media types including transparencies, inkjet paper, envelope and cardstock. Paper handling includes a 20-sheet document feeder and a 100-page input tray. The unit comes with an operational panel that has a display with 1 line and up to 16 characters. The Canon Multipass C100 is a multifunction unit with a size of only 17x16x8 inches that makes it a perfect desktop small office printer.
