Canon B210 Printer Review

The Canon Fax B210 is a multi-purpose machine that operates with inkjet technology and will be a reliable addition to any home office or work environment with fairly low daily volumes. Clearly, the model of the unit implies that the faxing function is designed to be primary, but that doesn't hinder the B210 from printing, scanning and copying with professional quality and efficiency. Four different colors of printer ink are used, meaning accurate and clear documents can be produced.

The transmission rate of 14.4 Kbps will processes faxes in less than 7 seconds with a maximum fax resolution of 200 dpi for incoming pages. There is a 42-page fax memory, 100 speed dials, 12 one-touch dials and an optional telephone receiver and cradle. The scanner has a 64-bit internal grey scale and can scan a document in less than 6 seconds. Up to 99 duplicates can be made from a single scan with a copy resolution of 360 dpi created by the Canon B210 ink.

The maximum resolution that this unit can generate with the Fax B210 ink is 720x360 dpi, which is only possible when printing. Cyan, magenta, yellow and black printer ink is all used, yet there are only slots for two Canon B210 ink cartridges. The black stands alone, but the other three colors are held in small compartments within the same Fax B210 ink cartridge. After about 150 prints, replacements will be needed and can be found online. Compatible Canon B210 ink is a more affordable option, though many would prefer name brand replacements.

An LCD display is located on the top panel that allows users to monitor the progress of tasks as well as adjust settings. There are a number of security features built-in and computers can be connected via parallel or USB port.
