If the midlevel to large office is looking for a reliable monochrome copier, the Canon imageRUNNER 2270 is definitely worth consideration. Because this is a strictly black-and-white unit, only one Canon 2270 toner cartridge is needed, meaning maintenance will be very easy. Able to produce 80,000 impressions every single month, it keeps up with midlevel offices well, and the 512 MB of RAM that come standard upon purchase should work out just fine for most offices. However, if more memory is needed, that can be upgraded up to 20 GB. A couple other great things to note are the machine's ability to support 100 mailboxes and the maximum copy reservation of up to 5 jobs. There are four functions that the 2270 can do and do well and those are printing, scanning, copying and faxing. These four functions make this multi-function unit worth every last penny.

Using the Canon 2270 toner, resolutions of up to 1200x600 dpi can be produced when copying. When printing, though, the resolution possible is even higher than copying at 2400x600 dpi. The one imageRUNNER 2270 toner cartridge needed is filled to the brim with black printer toner. The Canon 2270 toner should last buyers about 21,000 pages before needing replaced.

As far as speeds go, the unit doesn't disappoint, but it certainly isn't the fastest machine on the planet either. Using the imageRUNNER 2270 toner, it can produce about 28 pages every minute. There are machines out there with speeds of 40 to 50 pages per minute, but those may not be able to produce the same high quality results. Also, the fax portion has a modem speed of 33.6 Kbps, which will help buyers send and receive faxes in under 3 seconds each. The first page out can generally be produce in around 4.9 seconds, which is relatively quick.
