Canon 2200 Printer Review
The Canon imageRUNNER 2200 is a laser all in one built for large offices, and its 75,000 page monthly duty cycle proves that. With a 128 MB memory and 5.1 GB of hard disk space, most buyers will find that their needs are more than met. Printing, copying, scanning and faxing, there's little the machine can't do. It's versatile too, offering connection via parallel and ethernet port. Mac and Windows operating systems are both supported by the 2200, and an automatic document feeder comes standard as an accessory. Weighing over 175 pounds, it will be quite a task to move around.
Because this all-in-one only prints in black-and-white, users will only need to keep up with one imageRUNNER 2200 toner cartridge. This printer toner will last about 15,000 pages before running out. For large offices that use the 2200 to its maximum capacity, though, replacement Canon 2200 toner cartridges may be needed often. Unlike a lot of the competition, though, the cost per page using this imageRUNNER 2200 toner is very affordable. Replacement toners are easy to find and install.
The fastest speed this unit can print or copy at is 22 pages per minute using Canon 2200 toner, which is rather slow compared to many similar products. On the other hand, it does have a very quick start up time of 5.8 second. The fax portion is impressive too, thanks to its 33.6 Kbps modem speed. Generally it will only take about 3 seconds for a fax to be sent or received.
The copier can also create up to 999 copies per each original document using Canon 2200 toner. Reduction and enlargement settings are offered from 25%-800%. While most copiers can reduce to 25%, enlargements generally won't go as high as 800%. Also, these can be changed in 1% increments, meaning users are given the opportunity to create exactly the document they are wanting.
