Canon 1270 Printer Review
As the units that have come before it in the same series, the Canon imageRUNNER 1270 has the ability to print professional-quality documents as well as make duplicates from high-quality scanning and copying functions. However, the 1270 has an additional function that may make it more appealing to some consumers- a fax function. The faxing ability makes this a true all-in-one, capable of handling almost all of the daily tasks in an office environment.
Unfortunately, consumers in need of a color printer will need to look elsewhere as this machine only uses black printer toner. The upside to that seemingly limiting characteristic is that lifetime maintenance costs will be low, especially because each Canon 1270 toner cartridge can produce up to 5,300 prints before expiring. The same yield can be expected from replacement toners. Many options are out there, but the best option for replacement imageRUNNER 1270 toner cartridges is the internet, where several certified vendors are competing to offer the lowest price.
The fax machine has a 33.6 Kbps engine with a Super G3 transmission, allowing faxes to be processed in less than 3 seconds. Resizing options are available when making copies and up to 99 per original can be generated. The quality of duplicates using the Canon 1270 toner is 1200x600 dpi, which is a step down from the print resolution of 2400x600 dpi. However, if the TonerSave mode is on, reducing the amount of imageRUNNER 1270 toner used per page, the quality of printed documents could be equivalent to copies, which is still sufficient for an office.
There are a number of features that are built-in, including paper trays, a sorter, an ADF, a USB 2.0 port and an LED light system that will alert users when it is nearing time to replace the Canon 1270 toner. Overall, this is an ideal multi-function laser device.
