Weighing only 15 pounds, the Brother MFC-J265W offers mobility of a personal inkjet printer for a very low upfront price. Compatible with Windows and Mac operating system, it's easy to introduce to your home office and is easy to setup and install. Coming standard with the ability to fax, copy, print and scan, it can also produce up to 2,500 pages every month. Directing printing from memory cards is even offered! Some of these supported are Memory Stick, SD Memory Card and Memory Stick Pro.

Using the Brother MFC-J265W ink, high resolutions of up to 6000x1200 dpi can be reached when printing, while maximum copying resolutions are 1200x1200 dpi. Prints are produced with speeds of 33 pages per minute for monochrome and 27 pages per minute for color documents. The copier can produce up to 22 pages per minute and 20 pages per minute for black-and-white and color, respectively. The fax offers quick transmission speeds of 14.4 Kbps, and it even has a total memory capacity of 170 pages.

Four Brother MFC-J265W ink cartridges are needed for operation. These tanks come in black, cyan, magenta and yellow. The color Brother J265W ink lasts 750 pages, and the black printer ink lasts 450 pages before expiring. Replacements are easy to find and install. The upfront cost for the printer ink is relatively low too, but consumers find that the unit has a high consumption which causes them to need replacements more often than they would like.

Remanufactured Brother MFC-J265W ink cartridges are available, however, which cost only a fraction of the OEM price.
