The Brother MFC-9200C is a multifunction machine designed for the home or small office user. Its printing, faxing, scanning, and copying features will be an asset for busy users. The large capacities of Brother MFC-9200C ink cartridges will also give a better cost per page than competing models. Print speeds are fast for the price, at 14 pages per minute for black and 12 pages per minute for color.
While many similar models in Brother's line of multifunction devices have a automatic document feeder, they often have a small capacity, and they lack a flatbed scanning surface, which limits the size and type of paper that can be scanned. The MFC-9200C has 50-page ADF in addition to a flatbed scanning surface, opening up more options for users. The large capacity of Brother MFC-9200C inkjet cartridges means less frequent replacement. The single black Brother MFC-9200C ink cartridge has a capacity of 850 pages, and the three color Brother ink cartridges have a capacity of 400 pages.
As with similar multifunction devices from Brother, the printer has a video-in jack for connecting a video device, such as a VCR, DVD player, or camcorder. Users can then print screenshots from these video sources directly within the printer. While this is a unique feature, it may have limited appeal for the majority of users.
