As the "middle child" of its model line, the Brother MFC-8710DW multifunction laser printer makes a good compromise between the MFC-8510 and MFC-8910. It has faster speeds (up to 40 pages per minute) and a larger document feeder than the lower model, but lacks the duplex scanning and memory upgradeability of the higher model.
