The MFC-7420 is a very compact unit, especially given its many features. It measures only 17 inches x 16 inches x 12 inches and weighs only 28.5 pounds. Its small footprint and light weight means it is easy to move into place and easy to fit into tight spaces.

The MFC-7420 can print, scan, copy, and fax. Even though the printing engine is only monochrome, the unit does support color scanning at resolutions up to 2400. Scanning can be done either with the flatbed scanning surface or using the automatic document feeder, which has a capacity of 35 pages for automatic scanning of multi-page documents. Overall, the Brother MFC-7420 is a great choice for the small office, and handles its many functions very well. Its many scanning features and good print quality are impressive for the price.
