Brother HL-7050 Printer Review
Weighing a hefty 53.6 pounds, the Brother HL-7050 isn't a great fit for every small office out there, but its 19.1x18.9x16.6 inch size makes it easy enough to place anywhere. This workgroup monochrome laser printer has the ability to produce 30 pages per minute, and it comes with a status LCD screen to make editing and previewing documents much more convenient. Connection is offered via parallel, serial, ethernet and USB port, but sadly no wireless printing is offered.
Inside only one Brother HL-7050 toner cartridge is needed, filled with black printer toner. Resolutions of 1200x1200 dpi can be reached, which will leave documents looking sharp, professional and detailed. Though duplex printing doesn't come as a standard feature, it can be added at any time for those who need it. Another expandability option is with its RAM—only 32 MB come with the machine when purchased, but that can be upgraded to 288 MB. Transparencies, labels, envelopes, plain paper and recycled paper are all supported by the HL-7050.
The Brother HL-7050 isn't the highest quality laser printer on the market, but consumers tend to agree that it is solid. Users find that the speeds are pretty disappointing, but the resolutions offered make the wait time more acceptable. The output quality is excellent, according to consumers, and the text documents are some of the clearest and crispest on the market.
One big overall complaint is that the toners used are more expensive than a lot of the competition; however, when remanufactured printer toner is used, that problem disappears. Remanufactured Brother HL-7050 toner cartridges can be found from many third party vendors on the internet, and they cost much less than the original OEM toner does. Either type- OEM or remanufactured replacement Brother HL-7050 toner is easy to find and simple to install.
