For office equipment, it is unbelievably important to have machines that can connect to multiple computers and has the capability to be shared. The Brother HL-5350 is a monochrome laser printer that has an ethernet interface which allows simple networking. Other connection options include a standard parallel and USB port. This will allow for fast communication between a PC and the printing device. The HL-5350 is compatible with Windows, Mac and other major operating systems.

The standard paper tray has the ability to hold up to 250 sheets of regular paper while the multimedia tray can handle 50 sheets of whichever media type meets the needs of the user. Additional trays can be purchased to raise the paper capacity to 800 sheets if necessary. The HL-5350 also has a duplex printing option which will allow users to print automatically on both sides of the paper.

Black printer toner is the only color available and it is held in a single Brother HL-5350 toner cartridge. With a page yield of 3,000, the starter Brother HL-5350 toner that is supplied upon purchase will provide a decent cost per page. However, it is the replacement Brother HL-5350 toner cartridge that can yield up to 8,000 pages and will drop the cost per page down low enough to fit in virtually any budget.

The Brother HL-5350 is a rather fast laser printer considering its compact size, at up to 32 pages per minute. It offers a sharp 1200 dpi resolution for excellent print quality, and has both a 250-sheet main tray and a second 50-sheet bypass tray for more flexibility.

To replace the Brother HL-5350 toner cartridge, first make sure the printer is on, then open the access door by pressing the button in the center and folding it downward. Grasp the handle and pull out the drum and cartridge assembly.

Place the assembly on a piece of paper to protect against spills, and remove the HL-5350 cartridge by pressing the small lever on the right side to release it. Then you can lift the cartridge up and out.

Prepare the new replacement HL-5350 toner cartridge by removing it from the box, discarding the packing materials, and carefully taking it out of the bag. You should rock the cartridge a few times from side to side to redistribute the toner inside before installation, then you can remove the protective cover.

Install the HL-5350 cartridge into the drum assembly with the front end slightly downward, then tilt to lock it into place. Rotate the assembly so that you can clean the corona wire at the rear. Slide the small tab across the surface several times, then snap it into its original position.

Install the entire assembly back into the opening in the printer, and once it is firmly seated, close the access door.
