Whenever offices are looking for a new printer, a multi-purpose unit may be the most fitting, because these machines house the capabilities of multiple devices. The Brother HL-2280DW, for instance, has the ability to make copies and scan documents, as well as print high-quality black-and-white text documents. Even though this is a monochrome laser printer, it can actually scan documents in color. Unfortunately, faxing is not one of the functions included on the HL-2280DW.
The flatbed scanner allows for the copying of thick documents, like books or magazines. As many as 99 copies can be made from one original document and reductions and enlargements can be made ranging from 25% to 400%. This will allow users to make copies that are the exact size they want. Connection options are USB 2.0, ethernet and wireless. The HL-2280DW has wireless networking and duplex printing, which is a function that will automatically print on both sides of the paper.
The scanner has an option to send scans directly to email and can produce an interpolated resolution of 19200 dpi. The Brother HL-2280DW toner can reach a resolution of 2400x600 dpi when printing and copying. This will not only provide crisp text documents but professional graphics printing as well. There are two different capacities for replacement Brother HL-2280DW toner cartridges. The standard toners can last up to 1,200 pages, while the high capacity printer toner has a maximum page yield of 2,600 pages.
The maximum paper capacity of the HL-2280DW is 250 pages, which is held in one input tray. This machine can print as many as 27 pages per minute. Replacement Brother HL-2280DW toner cartridges are available directly from the manufacturer and from various vendors online. Overall, this all-in-one unit is easy to maintain and reliable. It has proven to be an efficient addition to standard offices.

The Brother HL-2280DW can reach speeds of 27 pages per minute, and offers the sharp output quality of other models in its line, with the added bonus of copying and color scanning functions. It also includes an LCD screen for better feedback and control, and its duplexing and wireless networking are convenient for home and small office users alike.
Although the model shown differs slightly in appearance, the replacement process is the same.
Start by opening the front access panel by pulling it toward you from both sides. With the panel open, you can see the small handle on the drum and cartridge assembly. Pull it toward you to remove the entire assembly.
Set the assembly on some paper to protect the surface from spills, and remove the Brother HL-2280DW toner cartridge from the drum assembly. Press down on the small lever on the left side until the cartridge is released, then grasp it by the handle and remove it.
Open the box for your new HL-2280DW toner cartridge carefully, and take it out of the packing materials, which includes the plastic bag. Rock your new cartridge from side to side a few times so that the toner inside will be distributed evenly, then tilt and remove the plastic protective cover.
Inserting at an angle, place the Brother HL-2280DW cartridge into the drum assembly. It should snap down into place firmly. Once inserted, turn the assembly around to the back and clean the corona wire. Look for the small tab on the right side, and slide it back and forth several times to clean the wire inside, then lock it back into its starting position.
To finish the installation, insert the assembly into the printer firmly, then close the access panel.
You are now ready to resume printing with your Brother HL-2280DW printer.
