Though most people do not print on a daily basis, it is important to own a machine for the home that is reliable and affordable. Especially for standard users that do print a few times a day, a laser printer will definitely be the most efficient choice. The Brother HL-2132 has only monochromatic capabilities, meaning it will not be able to print anything with colors other than black and white. This unit is compatible with all operating systems and offers a standard USB 2.0 connection for quick transfer of data between a single computer and the HL-2132.

There is a standard input tray on the top part of this laser printer that can hold up to 250 sheets of standard paper. A single-sheet manual-feed bypass slot allows for other types of media to be printed on, such as envelopes. The output tray can hold up to 100 printed documents.

A high quality resolution of 1200x1200 dpi can be generated by the Brother HL-2132 toner, which will produce crisp text documents and clear graphics. As only black printer toner is required, only a single Brother HL-2132 toner cartridge is present in this machine. The maximum capacity of replacement toners does vary, with the standard yielding 1,200 pages and the high-capacity Brother HL-2132 toner cartridge producing up to 2,600 prints before expiring. The latter will provide an overall lower cost per page than the standard printer toner.

As many as 20 pages per minute can be printed, which is fueled by a 200 MHz processor. From a sleep mode, the HL-2132 takes 7 seconds to warm up, but up to 25 seconds to warm up from an off position. The built-in 8 MB of memory allows this device to process jobs with multiple pages. A simple LCD on the top panel will show the level of Brother HL-2132 toner and allow users to easily change settings.

The Brother HL-2132 laser printer has a simple design, which makes it very affordable. It is rated for speeds of up to 20 pages per minute, and its compact footprint is perfect for home use. It lacks the duplex printing or wireless capabilities of similar models, but it is a good solution for the budget-minded buyer.

Although the model shown differs in appearance, the replacement process is the same.

When the toner light on the printer’s panel remains lit, you will know your Brother HL-2132 toner cartridge is empty. Start by opening the front access panel by pulling it forward and down. Next, pull out the cartridge and drum assembly.

It is a good idea to set the assembly on a piece of paper to prevent against spills, then you can remove the HL-2132 cartridge from the drum unit by pressing the small lever at the front, then tilting the cartridge up and pulling it out.

Ready your new Brother HL-2132 cartridge for installation by removing it from the box and the packing material. Before you remove the cover, tilt the cartridge back and forth a few times to redistribute the toner. Now you can remove the cover.

Install the new Brother toner cartridge into the drum assembly and press down firmly until you feel it click. Before you install it, rotate the assembly to clean the corona wire. Slide the small tab back and forth across the surface several times, then lock it back into place.

Place the entire assembly back into the printer, pressing firmly to make sure it is properly installed. You can then close the front access panel.

You are now ready to resume printing with your Brother HL-2132 printer.
