Visually, the Brother DCP-J140W multifunction inkjet printer looks like a larger all-in-one that has been flattened, but its compact frame is one of its most appealing aspects. It is rated for speeds up to 33 pages per minute in black and 27 pages per minute in color, and its low price will appeal to home users and college students with a small budget, as will the affordability of Brother DCP-J140W printer ink supplies.

The DCP-J140W certainly seems designed to include only the most basic features, in order to achieve such a low price point. It does include wireless networking for a shared environment, as well as a USB for a direct connection, but it lacks an ethernet port for wired use. It doesn't include the full complement of mobile features of more expensive models, such as AirPrint compatibility, but the Brother iPrint&Scan app can provide many of the same functionality. With no memory card slots or front USB port, users can't print from the inkjet device itself.
