The Brother DCP-8065DN is a multifunction monochrome laser printer designed for the home or small office user. It has the speed and capacity to keep up with a small office, and expandability for the future.

Affordable multifunction laser printers are becoming more common on the market, but in order to reach a low price point, many sacrifice paper capacity or speed. The DCP-8065DN manages to sacrifice almost nothing for its low price, and is impressive in many areas. OCR (optical character recognition) software is included for converting scanned documents into digital documents that are searchable and editable. The usual copy functions are included, such as reduction and enlargement from 25-400%, and users can make up to 99 copies of a document. Duplexing (two-sided printing) and an ethernet port for sharing across a network are both built-in as well, rounding out the feature set and adding considerable value to an already impressive package.

Print speed is a quick 30 pages per minute. Print quality is stellar, with a 1200 dpi printing engine providing extremely sharp prints. Text is the standout, but graphics quality is above average for a laser printer as well. It's good to see that the DCP-8065DN's affordable price did not come at the sacrifice of print quality.
