The Brother DCP-8060 is a multifunction monochrome laser printer designed for the home or small office user. It can handle virtually any business task a small office could need, and its intuitive controls and fast printing speeds make it a joy to use.

The Brother DCP-8060 can print, scan, and copy. It does lack a built-in fax feature, but most home and small office users probably won't need that function. Its footprint is small enough to fit in relatively tight spaces, especially for a multifunction, but it doesn't skimp on speed or paper capacity in order to achieve its compact size, as many printers do. Paper capacity is a generous 250 sheets in the main tray, and another 50 sheets in the multipurpose tray, which is more than you might expect for the price.

Capacity for the Brother DCP-8060 toner cartridges is impressive as well. Each toner cartridge has a standard capacity of 3,500 pages. While this is sufficient, there is also a high yield option for Brother DCP-8060 toner cartridges which has a page capacity of 7,000 pages. The cartridge is more affordable than other similar products on the market.

Scanning and copying utilize either the unit's flatbed scanning surface or its 50-sheet automatic document feeder. Included on the disc is OCR (optical character recognition) software which can convert scanned text into editable text, perfect for converting documents from paper to digital. The entire process is intuitive and streamlined, as the software walks you through the necessary steps. The DCP-8060's control panel is quite intuitive as well, and the onscreen display guides you to useful features as you go, such as asking if you want to enlarge or shrink when copying. This all adds up to a very easy-to-use machine, even for a novice.

Print speed is impressive, at 30 pages per minute, and copies generally print at around the same pace, minus scanning time. Print quality is excellent as well. Text is very sharp and detailed, and graphics are decent.

Overall, the Brother DCP-8060 manages to fit a lot of functionality, speed, and print quality into an affordable and compact package. Lack of faxing capabilities is the only drawback for this machine.
