The most striking feature of the Brother DCP-110C is probably its extremely compact design. Despite its ability to print, copy, and scan, it is not much larger than a typical inkjet printer. Print speed is very fast, at up to 20 pages per minute black and 15 pages per minute color. Brother DCP-110C ink is very affordable, and keeps ongoing costs low.

Printing at up to 1200 dpi resolution is supported, for very sharp prints. Its flatbed scanner works quite well, but is a little small. Many users may miss the inclusion of an automatic document feeder, though it's easy to see why it wasn't included, as it would have added considerably to the size of the machine. The Brother DCP-110C inkjet cartridges are individual for each color, which allows them to be replaced separately. While some inkjet printers use a single cartridge for all three colors, the individual Brother DCP-110C inkjet cartridges can save the user a lot of money by not replacing cartridges that are not completely empty.

The Brother DCP-110C includes some excellent software to help get things done more efficiently. It includes Scansoft Paperport SE, which includes OCR (optical character recognition) software, for converting scanned documents to editable text. This is especially useful for offices who are archiving paper documents into a digital backup.

In their review of the Brother DCP-110C inkjet, PC World praised its fast speeds and high-quality printing. They also liked its fast copying ability and memory card slots. Their main criticisms were that it tended to be a little louder than expected, and sometimes roller patterns would show up on the edges of prints.

Overall, the Brother DCP-110C is an excellent machine for the home or small office user who wants a very compact machine. Lack of faxing capability and an automatic document feeder might be a problem for some users.
