Users who need a solid fax machine with plenty of features should certainly consider the Brother 2480C. It is designed mainly for home and small office users, and features color printing and color copying as well. Print speed is around 25 pages per minute for black and 20 pages per minute for color. Brother Intellifax 2480C ink cartridges uses a four-cartridge design that will save users money, though not quite as much as Brother LC41Y ink will, for instance.

Unlike some affordably-priced printers, the unit includes full-size Brother 2480C inkjet cartridges in the box instead of smaller "starter" cartridges. The four Brother 2480C ink cartridges are separated by color so that users only need to replace the color that is empty. For users with higher printing demands, HP 564XL Cyan ink and other colors last 750 pages and works in various HP models. The unit measures 7.1 inches by 18.4 inches by 14.6 inches, so it has a little larger footprint than some models, but its low profile may appeal to some users more than a smaller footprint.

The Brother 2480C can fax, print, and copy, but its main focus is definitely on faxing. Sadly, its faxing speeds are limited to 14.4 kbps, which is a bit disappointing, as most of its competition supports Super G3 speeds up to 33.6 kbps. Some users might not mind the slower speeds, but its tempting to spend just a bit more for a model with the fastest speeds possible. The machine includes both a 10-page automatic document feeder and a flatbed scanning surface, giving users an option for quickly copying or faxing multiple pages at once.

User reviews of the Brother 2480C inkjet fax machine are mixed. Users like its faxing and copying features, as well as its low price. Some users dislike the fact that the machine uses some ink during each cleaning cycle, using up extra ink on a regular basis, making the cost per page more expense than competing models featuring Canon BCI-6Y ink. Other complaints are about error messages and poor build quality.

Overall, the Brother 2480C is a decent fax machine with nice copy and print features, but its slow faxing speeds and small ADF make it difficult to recommend over better competing models.
