Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle: Make the World a Better Place

Around the world we have celebrated the earth on April 22nd every year since 1970. This marks the birth of the environmental movement when 20 million Americans took to the streets, parks, and auditoriums to call for cleaner air, better sewage systems, toxic spill cleanups, and more.

This post is all about what you can reduce, reuse, or recycle to make the world a better place today for the next generation.

Reduce

Reducing is all about lessening human waste and the effects we have on the planet. For example, let’s say you go out and have a nice steak for dinner. Did you drive to a restaurant that’s a couple of blocks away? You could have walked and saved gas. Where is the steak from? If it’s local beef, you cut back on the environmental expenses that went into rendering the beef ready for consumption, as well as transporting it across the US to the destination.
