It’s More Than a Tablet

Along with the anticipated iPhone 6 with its thinner, stronger shell, Apple also unveiled the iPhone 6 Plus “phablet,” which has higher resolution within its 5.5 inch frame. Internally, it is much the same as the iPhone 6. The iPhone 6 Plus comes with a 64-bit A8 processor, but also carries a brand new camera sensor and optical image stabilization. Like the iPhone 6, it is set to hit the market in a matter of days. Look for it on September 19th.

Apple Offers Great Deals on HP and Epson Printers

If you’re in the market for a new printer, you might be interested in a new promotion from Apple. Noted first by 9to5Mac, HP and Epson has reduced the price of certain printer models by up to $70, and the prices are available online now and in stores soon, with an end date of September 6, 2013.

The Story of a Font

When we’re scrolling through the list of fonts in our word processors, looking for the perfect combinations for printing, not many of us stop to consider where they came from. It might not seem a particularly interesting topic, but, cast your eye over the line of text you’re reading now. Each of the letters in that line had to be designed by someone; a decision was made about the thickness and height of every “h” and the size of the “hole” of every “o.” Each letter has to fit in with its brothers and sisters along the line. A good font is a masterpiece of design, and some of them have histories that go back to the birth of printing.
