Lifehacks. Those simple tricks geared toward making life easier. Some are probably so ingrained into your daily life that you do not even think about them anymore. 2. Skip the costly personalized luggage tags when flying, and just tie a strip of bright colored fabric to your suitcase. It’ll make it easy to spot your items at the baggage claim.

  3. Roll up emergency money and stash it in an empty Chapstick tube for safe keeping. No one would ever think to look there for cash.

  4. Separate socks and other unmentionables into large Ziplock storage bags to help keep your suitcase organized. Bring along a couple of extra bags for the dirty ones.

  5. If you forgot your phone charger, the hotel television typically has a USB port. You’ll still need a connector cable, however. Our next tip helps with that:

  6. If the TV is ancient and lacks the appropriate ports, you can also check with the front desk for a spare cord. Phone charging cords are one of the most often forgotten items while traveling!

  7. Store the cords you do remember in an eyeglass or pencil case to keep them from tangling in your suitcase.

  8. Pack a dryer sheet to put in front of the vent in case your hotel room smells less than welcoming. You can also place a couple in your suitcase to keep your own items smelling fresh and clean.

  9. If you get lost while driving, a pizza delivery place may be able to give you better directions than a gas station.

  10. Traveling with little ones who roll off the bed? You can place pool noodles or pillows under the sheets of the bed to form a barrier that will help prevent late night falls.
