Kyocera-Mita Printer Error Codes

Kyocera-Mita LogoKyocera-Mita produces printers and all-in-one devices primarily for office use.  These machines are traditionally reliable and durable, but naturally, errors will occur from time to time.  There are a number of errors that you can fix yourself, however, many require Kyocera-Mita Technical Support. If you feel the problem is too complex, seek help rather than potentially damage the machine any further.

Here is a list of some of the most common error codes, what each means, and possible solutions:

Code Meaning Solution
A2 Fuser overheating Adjust the fuser temperature settings.
A6 Fuser/Cartridge not rotating at proper speed Restart the printer.  If the error continues to occur, contact Technical Support.
A7 Power supply fan not rotating at proper speed Restart the printer.  If the error continues to occur, contact Technical Support.
A8 Ozone fax in not rotating at proper speed Restart the printer.  If the error continues to occur, contact Technical Support.
A9 Multipurpose roller has error Clean your rollers.
B7 Transfer roller did not reset properly after job completion Restart the printer.  If the error continues to occur, contact Technical Support.
C1 Communication error with duplex unit Restart the printer.  If the error continues to occur, contact Technical Support.
C3 Duplex feed motor is not working properly Restart the printer.  If the error continues to occur, contact Technical Support.
E0 Communication error Make sure all cables are securely plugged in.  Restart the printer.  If the error continues to occur, contact Technical Support.
E2 Scanner motor is not working properly Restart the printer. If the error continues to occur, contact Technical Support.
E8 Fuser needs to be replaced Contact Technical support to assist you with replacing the fuser unit.
E9 Cartridge motor is not working properly Remove the Kyocera-Mita toner cartridge and restart the machine.  Re-install the cartridge.
C037 Microcomputer, engine board or main board not working properly Contact Technical support.
C640 Hard drive space cannot be accessed Make sure the hard drive is securely locked into place.  Restart the printer.
C10 Exposure lamp not working properly Use your reference manual to locate the lamp and make sure it is connected.  If the error continues to occur, contact Technical Support.
C210 Paper conveyor motor not working properly Clear any obvious paper jam.
C230 or C2500 Paper feed motor not working properly Clear any obvious paper jam.
C7300 Cartridge being read as empty, toner level not determined Remove the cartridge and run a cold start.  You may also want to shake the cartridge to redistribute the remaining toner.  If the error continues to appear, replace the cartridge.
C7800 Humidity sensor board not working properly Replace the humidity sensor board or contact Technical Support.
C8140 Malfunction with main paper tray – could be sensor or motor Remove tray to wipe dirt and dust from sensor and rollers.  Reinstall the tray properly and try to print again.
C91 Printer network connection is malfunctioning Make sure all cables are securely connected.
E07 Media type and tray are not matching Use a different paper tray, change the media type, or change the paper settings.
E70 Previous task did not complete Cancel the incomplete task or clear the print queue.
E90 Memory full – cannot complete task You can clear the memory by restarting the printer or split the task up into multiple jobs.  Another option is upgrading your printer memory.
OP1-OP5 A drawer or cover is open Close all drawers and covers.
U00602 Paper jam Clear the paper jam.
U00603 Document not feeding correctly Clean the rollers and use the alignment tabs on the paper tray to center the paper.
U00614 Paper is almost out Load more paper into the tray.
U00615 Paper is out Load more paper into the tray.

Some of these issues are mechanical, which will require Technical Support, though many are operator errors that you should be able to fix yourself.  Different Kyocera-Mita models have varying error codes, but most of those listed above are universal and are the most commonly reported.
