Halloween Costumes Made Out of Paper

It’s 8pm on Halloween night and you didn’t buy a costume. You look around the house and all you have is paper. Perfect! Here are our favorite Halloween costumes that incorporate paper. Hopefully they inspire you (and save you from being a hobo again).

Paper Masks

Lightweight and less confining than traditional masks, these paper masks are really impressive and relatively easy to make. Download a template as a PDF, print it out on card paper, fold, and glue. Paint them for added wow factor. Check out all designs.

Crepe Paper Costumes

Martha Stewart has some wonderful crepe paper costumes for children (and playful adults) that start with a bit of sewing and some colorful paper. Check out her site for instructions and videos.

Paper Gowns

If you want to copy this one, you’ll need to get started a few months early. These gowns are the work of Belgian artist Isabelle de Borchgrave and take hours to complete, but they are unlike any paper apparel we’ve seen before!

Whether you made your Halloween costume out of paper or bought it at a store, we want to see it. Be sure to share your Halloween pictures with us.
