Creative Crafts for Bored Kids

The kids are out of school on winter break, and by now you’re likely tired of hearing their cries of “I’m bored” ringing throughout the house. It’s time to liven things up a bit with printable crafts you can do in the comfort of your own home! Give the kids a whole new reason to regret the day they must return to school.

Turn on some music, set out a tray of finger foods, and get ready to make memories as a family.

For the family heavy on hot wheels

We’ve got printable roads!  You can set up highways, cityscapes, even neighborhoods with these free roads from picklebums.  Your kids are sure to have hours of fun, and the cleanup is a cinch.

If you’re overrun with Barbies

Try a DIY dollhouse! With craft paper, household items, boxes, and little imagination, your kids will have a house that will be the envy of the neighborhood. You might actually have more fun making this than you will playing with it. Here’s an example of all the memories you’ll create.

If they love nature

Make animals! These adorable animals take pet rocks to a whole new level. All you need are an assortment of art supplies, such as paint, googly eyes, and rocks. You can even print free animal parts here. Who doesn’t love a low cost craft?

For the family of Picassos

Use dry erase placemats! All you have to do is print these out, have them laminated, pick up a pack of dry erase markers, and your kids will do the rest. The best part of this project is that your children can use them again and again and again. All you’ll need to do is buy more markers in the future.

If you didn’t find what you need, this site has a ton of other ideas for things to make with kids. Let the fun begin so you’ll never have to hear “I’m bored” again!
