Affordable Canon Laser Printing for Under $100

Canon has been very busy in the past year, releasing affordable new laser printers and expanding their AirPrint lineup. They have also launched a new website just for the crafty crowd. Here, we round up some of the most exciting things to come out of Canon in the past several months.

Canon imageCLASS LBP6000

Affordable Laser Printing for Under $100

Just in time for the holidays, Canon’s most affordable monochrome laser printer is priced just right for gift-giving, with most retailers offering it for well under $100. Don’t let the low price fool you. It can print up to 19 pages per minute, with a first page out time of just 8 seconds. Now, instead of sending your college student to school with a costly inkjet model, the Canon imageCLASS LBP6000 can save them a lot of money on supplies.

The single Canon LBP6000 toner cartridge provides up to 1,600 pages, which is more than double the average inkjet supply. As a result it can crank out office documents and college papers at a much lower cost per page. The model even includes a Toner Saver mode to help conserve supplies. Buyers who think laser printers are too expensive for individual use might just be convinced to give the LBP6000 a try.

Apple’s AirPrint has been showing up in more and more models every year. It is an easy way to print from any iOS device with virtually no setup required. But why should inkjet owners have all the fun? Two Color imageCLASS models, the MF8580Cdw and the MF8280Cw, now have AirPrint included.

Home and small office users can simply connect the devices to a wireless network, and they will instantly show up in the print option of an iPhone or iPad. Now, instead of having to email a photo to your work address to print, you can begin printing with just a few taps, with no computer required!

For those who like to get a little crafty with their printer, Canon recently debuted the Canon Crafting Corner website. It’s chock full of craft projects, from color printables to coloring pages for kids. You can print your own holiday cards instead of buying them, or even make a photo wall clock!

The site links to specialized apps like the PIXMA Comix app, that can help you turn your photos into comic book panels. It also includes a video library that will demonstrate how to create several projects visually. You can learn to use photo filters, transfer photos onto wood, and much more. The sheer number of great projects available is impressive. Even better, users can add their own tips and projects, so the site continues to grow and expand. If you love photos and enjoy doing your own craft projects, you owe it to yourself to pay the Canon Crafting Corner site a visit!

Whether you’re shopping for an affordable printer for someone on your Christmas list or looking for a craft project for the holidays, Canon has you covered this season. With so many great products and services coming from Canon recently, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year!
