There are cyan, magenta, yellow and black WorkCentre M960 ink cartridges that are all needed for operation. The drop-on-demand technology uses hundreds of nozzles to dispense 4 picoliter drops of Xerox M960 ink over every inch of paper. The maximum resolution dpi is determined by how many dots of Xerox M960 ink are applied.
All of the functions of the M960 are packed into a machine that weighs only 30 pounds. The size is a little bigger when the paper trays are out. The input tray holds 150 sheets while the output can hold only 50 pages. The maximum output rate is 12 pages per minute using only black Xerox M960 ink and 7 pages per minute in full color.
The scanner has a 30-bit color depth and can reach an internal resolution of 1200x1200 dpi. The scanning surface is a flatbed, so multi-page or thick documents can be scanned or copied. The copy machine also has resizing options, allowing users to adjust the size of the image to 25% to 400% of the original size.
