The Xerox WorkCentre 7120 is a multifunction color laser printer built for the high-volumes of a large office environment. Users get the same fast speeds of 20 pages per minute in both color and monochrome, and the ability to copy, and scan is built right in as well, with faxing as an optional add-on. Replacing the Xerox 7120 printer toner is a significant cost, however.

The base model is the 7120S and includes a stand and an input paper capacity of 1,090 sheets, but the upgraded 7120T model adds more capacity, for a total of 2,130 sheets. The price difference is not large, but businesses with higher work volumes will appreciate the upgrade. Both models include the same feature set otherwise.

Networking is a major component of most modern office environments, and the 7120 has the features to support it. When scanning, users can send their digital documents to an email address, save it to a folder, or even send it to a folder on the network.

Many optional upgrades are offered, such as faxing, booklet finishing, a stapling unit, and more. Buyers can add USB support to allow the device to connect directly to a computer, but this is unlikely to be useful for any office with a network.

The cost of Xerox 7120 toner cartridges is fairly reasonable, but replacing the multiple color toners can get expensive. Still, the color WorkCentre 7120 toner cartridges have yields of up to 15,000 pages, while the black WorkCentre 7120 toner can provide up to 22,000 pages, so the cost per page is quite good.

For the fast-paced office, the Xerox 7120 has a lot to offer. Its speeds are not the fastest on the market, but features such as scan-to-email can improve workflow, multiple upgrades are available, and Xerox 7120 toner is fairly cost-effective for a laser model.
