Most color laser printers use several passes to apply each individual color taking up precious time and lengthening print jobs. A single pass laser printer, such as the Xerox Phaser 6200, can reduce the amount of time to print color and monochrome documents and print almost as fast as the Xerox Phaser ink printers. The technology uses an array of LEDs to transfer all of the color in one motion. This will reduce the amount of stress put on the machine during daily use and the maintenance costs associated with it.
The Xerox 6200 uses Xerox toner cartridges and built in calibrations to produce colors exactly as you see them on screen. Unfortunately, most of the built in calibrations are not available on the base model, the Xerox 6200B. Xerox 6200 toner cartridges have two sizes that the user can choose to purchase. The standard Xerox Phaser 6200 toner cartridges have a capacity of 3,000 pages per toner cartridge. The high capacity Xerox Phaser 6200 toner cartridge has more than twice that capacity at 8,000 pages per toner cartridge. The high capacity Xerox Phaser 6200 toner cartridge is much more economical, as using it will lower the cost per page. If you want to be eco-friendly, consider the Xerox 8550 ink printer that utilizes solid ink sticks and produces no waste unlike toner cartridges.
At 2400 true dpi resolution and a maximum of 512 MB of RAM, the Xerox 6200 laser printers can create complex documents and demanding print jobs with ease. The 6200DX and 6200DP models can produce photo images at 1200 by 1200 dpi and have double sided printing standard. The lower end models have this as an optional enhancement. The design of the unit itself is meant to save you space and easily sits on a desktop or small table. The Xerox 6200 has been discontinued by Xerox, but great refurbished models are available at affordable prices. Xerox is still making parts for these models.
