The Samsung SF-750 is a monochrome laser fax machine designed for the small to medium office environment. Despite its classification as a fax machine, the unit can do a combination of tasks, including printing, faxing, scanning, and copying. For a simple printer without all these functions, consider the Dell 1720, featuring Dell 310-8709 toner.
As a fax machine, the SF-750 really shines. It includes Super G3 transmission speeds and a 33.6 kbps modem. Up to 190 speed dial numbers can be saved. The unit will save the last 400 pages in memory, so that a fax can be recovered and reprinted if lost. The machine also includes a 50 sheet automatic document feeder, so that up to 50 pages can be fed at one time automatically. Fax capabilities are just the beginning, however.
The SF-750 is also an extremely capable printer. Its 600 dpi printing engine ensures sharp prints, though it is limited to monochrome. It can print up to 17 pages per minute, for very fast printing. The unit includes a 250 sheet standard paper tray, so that frequent reloads will never be necessary. Its included SF-750 toner has a lower cost per page than a lot of the competetion, like Lexmark E250A21A toner.
The SF-750 is also a fairly capable scanner, though its scanning abilities are the weakest of its many features. Scans are limited to grayscale and a resolution of 300 dpi. While it's scanning functions will satisfy the light user, those who need more scanning functionality will want to look elsewhere.
The machine features a TonerSave function which saves up to 40% in toner costs when switched on. This can greatly reduce the total cost of ownership by extending the life of each toner cartridge. Though the SF-750 only includes a USB or parallel connection out of the box, an ethernet connection is available as an option, which can be added at any time. Also, an additional 250 sheet tray can be added for more paper capacity. Though color capabilites are not offered here, models that use Samsung CLT-M409S toner are a better choice.
Overall, the Samsung SF-750 is a great fax machine with a multitude of fax features. Its ability to print, scan, and copy are just icing on the cake of an already capable machine.
