The Samsung ML-2510 is a monochrome laser printer designed for the personal or small office user. Its compact design, fast speeds, and great print quality make it an excellent choice for users with demanding needs and tight spaces.
Affordable and compact personal laser printers are fairly commonplace in the printer market. Unfortunately, many of these printers sacrifice printing speed and printing quality in order to achieve compact sizes and affordable prices. The ML-2510 does not sacrifice speed or quality, as it excels at both.
The ML-2510 is extremely compact in its design, measuring 13.9 inches by 11.7 inches by 9.7 inches. It should fit comfortably in the tightest spaces, and could easily share a desk surface with a computer. The unit weighs only 12.3 pounds, meaning it is also easy to move around, if necessary.
Print speed is very fast for the price. Around 25 pages per minute, it rivals even some more expensive printers. Print quality is excellent, especially for text. Text is clear and sharp, and very readable even at very small font sizes. The ML-2510 also supports a wide variety of operating systems, including modern versions of Windows, Mac OS X, and many Linux distributions. It does not include an ethernet port, but one can be added with an optional upgrade.
While the ML-2510 does not sacrifice in print speed or quality, it does make a few sacrifices to achieve its lower price. No USB cable is included in the box, and the printer includes only a starter Samsung ML-2510 toner cartridge with a capacity of 1,000 pages. The standard Samsung ML-2510 toner cartridge has a capacity of 3,000 pages. While both of these issues are disappointing, they are certainly a better tradeoff than lower quality or slower speeds.
Overall, the Samsung ML-2510 is an impressive personal laser printer. It features better print speed and quality than expected, and offers very few tradeoffs for its affordable price and compact size.
