The Ricoh Aficio C2500 is a color laser printer with multifunction capabilities designed for the medium or large office environment. It handles the high-volume tasks that a large office needs and makes managing jobs easier with its many convenience features. If you do not need the multi-function capability and high volume capacity, the HP 2500 toner printer is an excellent small business color printer.
Large office environments have much different needs than smaller offices. Sharing a multifunction device across a large number of networked users requires a capable, well-designed machine. The Ricoh C2500 includes many features designed to help organize and manage its multiple tasks no matter how many users are connected to it. First, its Web Image Monitor and SmartDeviceMonitor allow any user to view job queues, access options, and view status of the machine, such as toner levels, from any computer on the network which is similar to HP's OpenView system that monitors similar things, i.e. HP toner cartridge levels. Second, its built-in Document Server allows users to store documents in the printer's memory for later access for printing, faxing, or editing.
The multifunction features of the Ricoh C2500 include printing, scanning, faxing, and copying. Scans can be sent to virtually any location on the network, or even to a web server. Faxes can be sent either from the machine itself or from any connected computer on the network. The built in memory card reader allows photos to be printed directly from a memory card, a very convenient feature.
Print speed is good, though a little below average, at around 25 pages per minute. What is impressive, however, is that the C2500 can print both color and monochrome pages at the same speed, something many color laser printers do not achieve. However, most users would probably prefer faster monochrome speeds, as that represents the bulk of day-to-day office printing. Nevertheless, print quality is excellent in both monochrome and color.
Overall, the Ricoh Aficio C2500 is an absolute workhorse of a multifunction machine. It is able to juggle a large number of users at once with ease, and its sheer number of finishing features is also impressive.
