With a network-centric design, the Ricoh Aficio SP 4310N laser printer can reach speeds of up to 37 pages per minute, yet it doesn't require a large footprint. Its 1200x600 dpi engine produces sharp prints and expansion options are available for future growth. Ricoh SP 4310N printer toner is very expensive, so small offices might need to look elsewhere.
The SP 4310 includes both a USB port for personal printing and an ethernet port for connecting it to a network. It can also be a good choice for environments with multiple printers, as the settings from one device can be quickly and easily copied to the others in a shared environment.
The unit measures 13.6x15.3x17.7 inches, and weighs just 34.1 pounds, even with the Aficio SP 4310N toner supply installed. The standard paper supply includes a main tray that can hold 500 sheets and a bypass tray that can hold 100 sheets. The bypass tray is particularly handy, as users can simply insert media into it without entering the type or size, and the machine will automatically detect these attributes and start printing.
Expansion options are quite abundant, as users can upgrade the input paper capacity by adding one or two 500-sheet paper trays, for a maximum of 1,600 sheets. Automatic duplexing is also available as an upgrade, allowing users to print on both sides of the page to save on paper costs.
It's not all good news, however. Ricoh SP 4310N toner cartridges are fairly expensive, and third-party toners are difficult to come by. As a result, even the large capacity of 15,000 pages for each Aficio SP 4310N toner cartridge doesn't keep the cost per page as reasonable as some buyers would like.
The SP 4310N has an impressive feature set when it comes to share network environments, and its easy setup process could save administrators a lot of time. Unfortunately, with expensive Ricoh SP 4310N toner supplies, it won't save them a lot of money.
