The base model of the Panasonic KX-CL500 comes standard with 64 MB of memory which can and probably should be expanded. Maybe not to the 512 MB maximum, but you will need more memory to produce more complex documents especially if you are using a lot of color. The KX-CL500 is markedly less expensive than its competitors, such as the Oki C5200 toner printer, and provides resolutions of true 1200 by 1200 dpi. A single pass LED array enables lower maintenance costs by lowering the number of moving parts in the unit. Toner is passed from the cartridge to the media in one fluid motion enabling shorter first page printing times and increasing productivity.
The toner cartridges are designed for ease of use and utilize spill proof manufacturing and an easy slide in shape. They can produce up to 5,000 pages, which is much more than the HP CP1518 toner printer. The KX-CL500 toners are located under the access panel atop the unit, all of the consumables and replaceable parts are able to be done by the user lowering the costs of maintenance even further. An optional auto duplexing unit can be added without taking up more space, a great feature for small and confined areas.
The KX-CL500 can accept a large number of differing media types to fit your demands as a business or workgroup.
