The OKI C9600 is a very impressive printer. Its paper capacity is 760 sheets, with a 530-sheet main tray and a 230-sheet multipurpose tray. If more paper capacity is needed, users can add up to four 530-sheet trays, for a grand total of 2,880 sheets of capacity. Needless to say, with high capacity paper trays and toner cartridges the C9600 is built for high-volume use. Not only is the paper capacity impressive, but the printer supports a wide variety of media types and sizes. It can even handle banner printing sizes up to 12.9 x 47.24 inches.

The Okidata C9600 includes an ethernet port for networking support, allowing it to be connected directly to a network, to be shared among multiple computers. The printer essentially configures itself on the network, but any possible problems with configuration should be easily sorted out by the excellent user manual. The printer can also be connected directly to a computer via USB.

With a printer this large, toner replacement and cost is a big issue. Replacing the Okidata C9600 toner cartridges is an extremely simple process. Simply lift up the top of the unit, and the four toner cartridges are easily accessible. Okidata C9600 toner cartridges have a capacity of 15,000 pages each. Okidata prices tend to be expensive, but using third-party compatible cartridges is a much more affordable option.

Print speed is extremely fast, at around 40 pages per minute in monochrome and 36 pages per minute in color. Its color speeds are particularly impressive, as it is much faster than most color models.
