The Okidata C9400 color laser printer is designed for the medium or large office environment. Its excellent color quality and large format printing make it a great choice for production environments, and expandability allows it to fit nearly any size of office. The Oki C9400 color laser printer comes in two configurations. The C9400 is the base model, while the C9400dxn adds built-in networking support, automatic duplexing (two-sided printing), more memory, and even a 5 GB hard drive for storing documents directly on the unit itself. These features are also available as upgrade options that can be added to the base model. Networking, in particular, is an option most buyers will likely opt for.
Not only does it have a large paper capacity in the standard configuration, at 550 sheets, but it offers expansion if more capacity is needed. Paper capacity can be expanded with optional paper trays up to a maximum of 1,650 sheets, which should be enough to handle a very large office of high-volume printing. It also has the ability to handle large media formats as large as tabloid extra size paper (12 inches by 18 inches).
Oki C9400 toner cartridges are arranged in the standard 3-color and 1 black configuration. Black and color laser toner cartridges all have a capacity of 15,000 pages each, which just edges out the competing LaserJet 5550 toner at 12,000 pages. Toner costs are very low, especially considering the large capacity, which means a very low cost per page.
Print quality is excellent. Color photos and graphics are very well-balanced with accurate colors and good skin tones. Text is sharp and detailed, and very readable even at the smallest font sizes. Print speed is around 26 pages per minute for black and 21 pages per minute for color. For a printer with equal quality but designed as a personal printer, look at the HP CP2025 toner printer.
