Image reproduction is handled acceptably on the base 600 dpi setting on the OKI color laser C7100. There was a little graining and a larger document, say over 50 pages, has a tendency to slow down the printing start up. Given that the C7100 has a base memory of 64 MB and a 405 MHz processor the first out time is a bit slow. But when set to the 1200 dpi resolution the printer is quieter and has fantastic quality. No banding is present, and crisp text is produced. The C7500 and OKI C7300 performed better on graphics due to a higher base memory.
Okidata toner is passed in a single motion via an LED array, allowing for shorter start up times after the initial starting warm up. Large and complex documents are printed a bit slow, but better than most printers in class. The OKI C7100, C7300, and C7500 are designed for medium to small workgroups and busy offices. Print speeds, although slower than rated, are acceptable due to the affordable price tag.
Optional duplexing is available as well as up to 1 GB of RAM; and the color laser printers can print on a multitude of media styles, types and weights. Print on transparencies, card stock, banners, and business cards as well as widely used industry standards. OKI has these laser printers rated for a 100,000 monthly duty cycle to keep up with your large printing demands, and with an input sheet capacity of 630 pages you will need to refill less often and increase your productivity.
