Adding color to documents and printing full color prints are a big part of today’s business. Whether you are a small home office or a workgroup within a company you would do well with an OKI C5100, C5150 or C5200. All of these printers utilize single pass laser printing technology, allowing all of the color to be passed simultaneously to the paper. There are a lower number of moving parts meaning lower maintenance costs over the life of the machine.
The Okidata toner cartridges on the models of the C5100 series have individual drums for each of the cartridges and can make set up a longer process. A lot of printers using the single pass technology take up more space than one may have to spare. No worries with the OKI printers, especially the C5200, as they are smaller and more compact. This design also makes getting inside more tedious, but a single access door on the unit’s top limits having to move the printer to get inside.
Print speeds on the OKI C5100, C5150, and C5200 vary slightly from model to model but can be up to 12 pages per minute in color and 20 pages per minute with black and white documents. Color representation is a little lacking on the C5100 models, but works well enough for adding color to plain text print jobs. Step up to the C5150 or the OKI C5200 for better color printing and less chances of mismatched colors or fonts. Cost per print is higher than expected at around 2.9 cents for black and 16.8 cents for color documents. Lower cost per page can be attained by using high yield toner cartridges.
