The Okidata C3200 color laser printer designed for the home or small office user. It features good paper handling and networking, but its speed might be too slow with too many shared users. If the printer is going to be shared, the Okidata 5100 toner printer or the Okidata C5200 toner printer is worth a look.

The OKI C3200 color laser printer, also known as the C3200n, uses LED technology in its printing mechanism, which is more of a sub-category of laser printers than a new category unto itself. The LED printing mechanism has a few advantages, one of them being speed, and while the unit is a bit faster than some models with a 4-pass printing mechanism like itself, it is still a bit on the slow side of what is available for just a bit more money. One disadvantage of LED technology is that toner tends to have a glossy look on the page, which can sometimes make it more difficult to read.

The unit has good paper handling capabilities for a model in its class. It has an input paper capacity of 300 sheets in the main drawer, and a multipurpose tray with a capacity of 100 sheets as well. Multiple media types and sizes are supported, such as banners, postcards, etc. It has a USB connection as well as a built-in ethernet port for networking. This allows the machine to be shared across a network of computers. The Okidata toner printer also comes with Photo Enhance technology which can improve the quality of photos, even when printing on standard paper.

Print speed is quite good, at 20 pages per minute for black and 12 pages per minute for color. Its color speed is impressive, but faster models can be had for only a little more money without the problem of glossy ink. Print quality is excellent. Text is sharp and defined, and color and graphics are both solid.

The Okidata C3200 toner cartridges come in both a standard and high capacity. Since the standard laser toner cartridge has a low capacity of 1,500 pages per cartridge, purchasing the high capacity printer toner cartridges would be a much wiser decision. With its 3,100 page yield per cartridge, the high capacities would cut down on the user's cost per page.

Overall, the Oki C3200 is a solid machine with its included printer toner cartridge, fast speeds and good print quality. Glossy-looking ink and lack of expandability could be issues for some users.
