The Okidata B4350 laser printer is designed for the home or small office environment. Its compact size, affordable price, and fast printing speeds make it an excellent choice, but tricky paper loading and a limited control panel are minor issues to overcome. If you need a color printer to compliment the B4350, the Okidata C5500 toner should be evaluated.
The Oki B4350 laser printer has ethernet networking built right in, so it is ready to be connected and shared right out of the box. If its 16 MB of included memory is not enough for the size of the office, it can be expanded to a maximum of 272 MB.
Paper capacity is 250 sheets in a single standard tray. An additional 500-sheet tray can be added as an upgrade, making the total paper capacity 750 sheets. Growing offices will appreciate the expansion options, but high-volume use might eventually max out the unit's other specifications. The unit can handle a fairly high volume of printing, however, with a monthly duty cycle of 40,000 pages. With is fast speeds and large paper capacity, the unit still maintains a compact frame. Okidata B4350 toner cartridges have a capacity of 2,500 pages, though the laser toner cartridge tends to be a bit on the expensive side. Using third-party compatible printer toner cartridges can reduce the cost significantly, and many of these cartridges have a higher capacity of 3,000 pages, adding even more value.
Print quality is excellent across the board. Text is very sharp, dark, and detailed, and remains readable at small font sizes. Graphics quality is better than average for a laser, and even photos look impressive. Print speed is up to 23 pages per minute, and first page out time is less than 7 seconds.
Overall, the Oki B4350 is a solid choice for a small office that needs networking built in. Its decent paper capacity and fast speeds are impressive.
