Faxing is a form of communication almost exclusively found in offices, and is not used nearly as much in modern work environments because technology has developed into a more digital age. Fortunately, the Okidata OkiFax 2600 is not just a fax machine. It can also scan documents and make copies. A built-in memory of 1 MB should suffice for smaller offices, but that can be increased all the way up to 9 MB if needed. The paper capacity is also expandable, from 250 sheets to 750 sheets with the addition of an extra tray. Upgrade options let the Oki 2600 grow with demand volume.

An automatic document feeder holds 50 pages and will continuously feed pages to be copied or scanned. Both functions work at decent speeds and delivers professional quality. The Okidata 2600 toner can create a faxing resolution of 200x400 dpi. Super G3 capabilities and a transmission speed of 14.4 Kbps allows faxes to be sent or received in about 6 seconds, which is a bit slower than the current standard, but still efficient.

Black printer toner fills the single Okidata 2600 toner cartridge, meaning color capabilities are not available with this unit. A maximum page yield of 2,500 prints comes with each OkiFax 2600 toner cartridge. When replacement toners are needed, they will be easy to find and install. Fortunately, a Toner Save mode is available that will prevent the overuse of Okidata 2600 toner, which will help it last longer.

The frame of this unit is compact enough to fit on a standard desk at 18.6x17.4x10.6 inches and a weight of 35 pounds. And LCD sits on the top panel that will let users know when an error has occurred and when OkiFax 2600 toner is running low. This helps users stay on top of maintenance, and keeps the 2600 operating smoothly for years.
